Investigation Skills
Investigation skills are assessed cumulatively over the course of the entire IB Biology course. Students are observed to see if they:

- Follow directions carefully
- Do not fabricate data
- Seek assistance when appropriate (independence is encouraged)
- Collect data using the correct measurement and uncertainty
- Consistently carry out proper safety measures and work in the lab in a way that does not put yourself or others in harms way
- Effectively use a variety of biological techniques, including microscopy
- Safely dispose and reduce waste
- Draw specimens accurately
- Analyze data using the appropriate descriptive and inferential statistics
- Use correct graphing conventions to display summaries of data
- Accurately report errors in investigations
- Follow the IBO animal experimentation policy
