How do I get started with my CAS programme?
Find out more about each goal on: https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/sustainable-development-goals/

Step 1: Select your goal
In order to get started with your individual CAS programme you will have to have appropriate aims and goals. You will select one of the 17 UN sustainable development goals as a focus of your CAS programme. According to the goal you have selected you will write down how you aim to contribute to that goal in the CAS aims & goals section on your MB CAS portfolio. ''The Sustainable Development Goals are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. They address the global challenges we face, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate, environmental degradation, prosperity and peace & justice. The goals interconnect and in order to leave no one behind, it is important that we achieve each goal and target by 2030.'' Step 2: How to record your aims & goals in the ManageBac CAS Portfolio
Step 1
Go to your portfolio page on Managebac. On the right hand side of your page click on the button 'Edit Aims and Goals' |
Step 2
Write your which goal you have selected and how you aim to contribute to this goal through your CAS programme. Don't forget to click on 'Save Changes' |
Step 3
You will go back to your overview page. You will now see the text you have written at the top of your page. |
Step 3: Plan your experiences/Project
Now that you have your aims and goals in place it is time to start planning your experiences and project. Try to think of things that you can do that enable you to use your talents, to use your learning in your subjects/core, to challenge yourself and at the same time are enjoyable to do. Try to link these potential ideas to the goal you have selected. Keep in mind that we don't expect you to solve the problem completely, we merely ask you to contribute to the achievement of the goal. Below you see some examples of what that could look like if you would for instance select the goal 'Zero Hunger'.
When starting with CAS is may be difficult to get started, it may be worthwhile to brainstorm about your talents, what you enjoy to do and which skills you would like to develop. You can use the personal inventory document to do so. After that you might have quite a few ideas you want to do, you can use the CAS programme planning document to make an overview for yourself on when you plan to get started with these experiences.
